EAT

Here at Julia’s Local we cook what we like to eat, and our menu celebrates a wide variety of just-harvested produce from our own one-acre culinary garden.

We serve American comfort food, with a twist. Chef Henning Nordanger honors his Norwegian heritage by using selected Scandinavian techniques ~ curing, pickling, and fermenting ingredients ~ while incorporating traditions rooted in French cuisine, highlighting rich and flavorful sauces and slow-cooked meats and poultry.

Most notably, we serve fresh-water trout from Beaverkill Trout Hatchery, located right here in the northern Catskills. Other favorite fishes make guest appearances, as well.

An assortment of breads are baked from scratch every day, from crusty rustic sourdough to dansk rugbrød. And perhaps dinner doesn’t feel entirely complete without treating yourself to one of our sweet and simple desserts.

P.S.: We love butter!

DRINK

We offer a lovely and ever-changing selection of natural and organic wines hailing from small (and often family-run) estates and vineyards that are dedicated to sustainable farming practices. Small-batch beers, lagers, pilsners, and ales are all brewed locally. Our always-evolving craft cocktail list features both surprises and old-school classics. And for the non-alcoholic drinker, we offer zippy housemade sodas and herbal teas.
